Jaipur: Two police constables were arrested for allegedly molesting a female neighbour and getting into a scuffle with other residents of a housing society following a drinking party at their rented apartment in the city’s Pratap Nagar police station area Saturday evening.According to the woman’s complaint, the two constables were drinking at their apartment and creating a ruckus. This led her to confront them about the noise, following which they abused and molested her.Her cries brought other residents to the spot and the situation soon turned violent, with residents reportedly assaulting the two constables after they verbally abused some of the people who had gathered there.A police team reached the apartment complex soon after and took the two constables away. They were sent for medical examinations and subsequently placed under arrest for breach of peace.Sanganer ACP Deepak Khandelwal said that a written complaint by the woman alleges molestation by the two accused, and the charges are being investigated.A senior police officer told TOI that both constables were drunk at the time of the incident. “We are investigating the allegations made in the complaint. We will also look into some videos of the incident that have emerged,” he said.Police said disciplinary action will be initiated against the two cops if the allegations of molestation are established.
