Jaipur: BJP has begun a post-poll review of its organisation after civic elections exposed problems — from ticket selection and alleged interference by MLAs to rebels contesting against the party. Sources said district presidents flagged the issues at a state-level meeting with state president Madan Rathore and state in charge Sanjay Bhatia. “Organisational functionaries admitted there were shortcomings in ticket distribution and mistakes had occurred because the party did not receive proper reports from election in charges. Their role will also be reviewed l,” a source said.State general secretary Harish Dwivedi, who oversaw the civic elections in Rajasthan, also raised the issue of ticket selection.District presidents have been directed to prepare reports for each assembly constituency that will record voting patterns, complaints of cross-voting, rebels and areas where dissatisfaction emerged after ticket distribution.Talking to the media, state general secretary Kailash Meghwal said the meeting was the first of the state organisation and focused on organisational and structural issues. “The action plan for the panchayat elections was discussed along with shortcomings in the civic elections,” said Meghwal.
