The former Indian squash player said that both players have proven their potential by winning silver medals. While the chance for gold and direct entry into the 2028 Olympics may have been lost, the Olympics are still about two years away. During this time, the players have ample opportunity to improve their rankings and reach the top level.The Jaipur-based Surbhi said that India has so far won two silver and one bronze medals in the individual events. The team events are still remaining and will get underway on Monday, and Indian players are expected to perform well in them.She added that Indian players will enter the team events fully prepared and confident. Consequently, India’s medal tally in squash could increase further by the end of the competition.

Surbhi, who is also the vice-president of the Squash Rackets Federation of India (SRFI), runs a professional academy here at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium and has been producing several young promising players from the centre.
