Jaipur: A 13-month-old girl died after being allegedly run over by a car in Jaipur’s Siddharth Nagar area Thursday evening, police said.The incident sparked outrage, with grieving family members staging a protest outside EHCC Hospital and demanding the immediate arrest of the driver.According to police, the accident occurred around 5pm when the child, identified as Kittu, was playing outside her house near the roadside along with other children.Kajal Thakuria, a lecturer at a private university in Jaipur, who lives in the same neighbourhood, was reversing her car when the child allegedly came under the rear wheel, an officer said.The family rushed the injured child to the hospital in the same vehicle involved in the accident. She was declared dead nearly two hours later during treatment.Following her death, family members gathered outside the hospital and raised slogans, seeking strict action against the driver.Police said a formal complaint is being recorded and further investigation will be initiated.
