Jaipur: Vocational education trainers across the state began a protest in Jaipur Tuesday to demand timely postings in schools and resolution of pay anomalies. They also alleged delays in tenders for appointment of vocational teachers.Raghupal Singh, president of vocational trainers welfare association, Rajasthan, said, “As part of National Education Policy 2020, the focus is on skill development and training. We have been providing our services at govt schools for over a decade, but due to administrative delays we are not given postings on time, and students suffer because of this.”Singh said about 5,000 vocational trainers have been training students in govt schools under Rashtriya Madhyamik Shiksha Abhiyan for past 11 years. They are appointed through a service provider, agency, or company. However, delays in tender issuance affect classroom education, and trainers are left without jobs until the contract is renewed. The trainers also demanded that they receive salaries before the 10th of every month, similar to vocational trainers in other states. They further demanded maternity leave for women trainers, paternity leave for men, and medical leave.
