Jaipur: City police arrested 13 men Tuesday for performing motorcycle stunts while brandishing swords and sticks on the Delhi bypass national highway after a video of the act went viral and sparked public concern over safety.Police said the accused were part of a group of 10–15 riders who were seen speeding from Chungi Circle towards Idgah around 10–10:30pm on April 19, creating loud noise and endangering commuters while carrying weapons. Among those arrested, Sahil was booked under the Arms Act for waving a sword during the stunt, while the others were held under relevant provisions of the BNSS.The incident came to light after the viral video showed the bikers performing risky manoeuvres on a busy stretch of the national highway, prompting swift action from the Jaipur police. Taking cognisance, DCP (North) Karan Sharma formed a special team to track down those involved. The team, supervised by Additional DCP Neeraj Pathak and led by ACP Aditya Pooniya along with SHO Dharm Singh, scanned footage from 25–30 CCTV cameras along the highway and surrounding areas. Using technical inputs and local intelligence, police identified the accused and carried out a coordinated crackdown.Four motorcycles used in the stunt were seized, and the accused were taken into custody. During questioning, police found that the group had been returning from a fair at Aandhi Dargah and had decided to ride together, during which they performed the stunts.Officials said further investigation is under way to identify and arrest other participants seen in the video.
