Jaipur: An army soldier was arrested by the Sikar police in connection with an alleged organised crime case linked to the seizure of illegal firearms and ammunition from a flat in Sikar Monday.Four other accused — Gulab, Pradeep, Manoj and Babulal — had earlier been arrested in the case, Sikar police said.The accused, identified as Lance Naik Bhopal Singh (32), a resident of Jhotwara in Jaipur, was traced by Sikar’s Dadiya police following an input from the Anti-Gangster Task Force (AGTF). A team led by Dadiya SHO Sanjay Poonia arrested him with assistance from the district special team (DST).The case originated on June 17, when Kotwali police received information that a suspected criminal was hiding in a fourth-floor flat at Vishnudham Apartments near VK Jain Hospital on Station Road. Police raided Flat No 401 and allegedly recovered two illegal pistols, 43 live cartridges and other items.A case was registered under sections of the Arms Act and Organised Crime of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS). The investigation was later transferred to Dadiya police. During the probe and subsequent intelligence gathering, police identified Singh as an accused in the earlier case in which four persons were arrested.
