SOG nets man for facilitating fake degree in RPSC lecturer exam scam

Jaipur: Rajasthan Police’s Special Operations Group (SOG) Thursday arrested a man for allegedly facilitating a forged degree used in the RPSC Lecturer Examination-2022 recruitment, officials said.The agency has identified the accused as Dhwaj Kirti Sharma.According to ADG (SOG) Vishal Bansal, the case surfaced during verification of documents submitted by candidate Kamla Kumari, who produced an MA (Hindi) degree purportedly issued by Mewar University, Gangrar, Chittorgarh.Verification by the Rajasthan Public Service Commission (RPSC), Ajmer, revealed that the degree was not issued by the university and was forged.A case was registered at Civil Lines police station, Ajmer, on March 20, 2023, and an investigation was initiated.During the probe, investigators found that Dhwaj Kirti Sharma, in alleged conspiracy with other officials associated with the university, prepared forged mark sheets, degree certificates and related documents for the candidate.Police said fake migration certificates, character certificates and degree documents bore forged seals and signatures linked to the accused.Sharma was brought on a production warrant and arrested on April 22, 2026. He was produced before a court, which granted police remand for further interrogation.Officials said Sharma was previously arrested in multiple cases involving fake degrees.So far, 10 accused, including candidate Kamla Kumari, were arrested in the case.Further investigation is under way.
