Jaipur: A 26-year-old man riding a scooty was killed after allegedly colliding with a truck that took a sudden U-turn near Jal Mahal on Amer Road in the early hours of Thursday. The accident occurred around 3.30 am when both vehicles were travelling towards Amer from Ramgarh Mod. Police said the truck driver abruptly turned the vehicle, leaving the scooty rider with no time to react. The victim, identified as Mohammad Arshad, a resident of Mehskan Ka Mohalla in Amer, died on the spot due to severe injuries. Police said the body has been shifted to the SMS Hospital mortuary for post-mortem. “The truck driver fled the spot after the accident. We have registered a case and are examining CCTV footage from the area to trace the accused and ascertain the sequence of events,” said Brahmpuri police SHO Hemant Janaagal.
