Jaipur: The urban local body election results of Jaipur will be decided on Monday, with counting for all 19 ULBs in the district scheduled to begin at 8am. The process will determine the fate of 2,644 candidates contesting 690 wards, including 150 wards of the Jaipur Municipal Corporation and 540 wards across two municipal councils and 16 municipalities.For the corporation wards, counting will be held at Pharmacy College in the Bhawani Niketan campus, Jhotwara. The district election office has set up 18 additional counting centres for the remaining ULBs, all located within their respective jurisdictions.At Bhawani Niketan, votes will be counted in 15 rooms, with each room assigned 10 wards. For the other urban bodies, 120 rooms have been arranged across 18 venues.District electoral officer and district collector Sandesh Nayak said all arrangements had been completed. “Counting staff have been directed to report at 7am with full preparation. Entry will be strictly restricted to those carrying authorised admit cards or passes. Counting agents without valid passes will not be allowed inside the centres,” Nayak stated.Officials said counting will proceed in phases to ensure smooth tabulation. Wards with fewer polling booths will be taken up first, followed by larger wards where more EVMs are involved. Results are expected to be declared in batches of 15 to 16 wards at regular intervals. However, before EVMs official would count the postal ballots.“With these preparations in place, we are expecting results for all 19 ULBs to be announced by the afternoon. Security and access control measures have been tightened at all centres to prevent crowding and maintain transparency during the counting process,” an official stated.
