Bhilwara: The farmhouse sat deserted on the edge of the forest near Champapur in Bhilwara district, silent enough to disappear into the trees, until the police surrounded it Monday evening.District SP Sagar Rana said a tip-off indicated MD drugs were being manufactured inside a farmhouse adjoining fields in the Bijolia police station area. A joint team was formed, the area was cordoned off from all sides, and the raid was executed on the isolated property.Policemen entering the premises found an active setup producing white powder. The scale of the operation, concealed behind the cover of emptiness and distance, left the raiding team “stunned,” according to senior officers.From the site, police seized 36 kg of MD drugs, 155 litres of chemical liquid, 30 litres of HCL, 8.5 kg of caustic soda and equipment used in manufacturing the drug.Three men were arrested: 51-year-old Virendra Bachhda of Mandsaur district, Madhya Pradesh; 43-year-old Bahadur Singh Banjara of Neemuch district, Madhya Pradesh; and 30-year-old Bablu Banjara of Bhopatpura village in the Bijolia police station area of Bhilwara. Police said the accused were being interrogated and a case was registered under multiple sections.Bijolia police station in charge Swagat Pandya said, “Preparations to manufacture MD drugs had already commenced, and we received critical information that production started just a day earlier, on Sunday,” he explained. “Our team acted swiftly on Monday evening to halt their operations.”
