Jaipur: A 24-year-old man was critically injured after a speeding Thar allegedly rammed into his scooter and dragged him along with the vehicle for around 15 feet in Raja Park late Tuesday night. The driver fled the scene after the crash.The incident took place around 12.30am on Uday Marg in the Jawahar Nagar police station area. Vijay Paswan was crossing an intersection on his scooter when the black Thar allegedly hit him. CCTV footage of the crash has surfaced.Police rushed Vijay to SMS Hospital after being alerted. He suffered injuries to his head, shoulder and hand and has been placed on a ventilator, SHO Sarla Yadav said.Vijay works at Chicken Hunt in Adarsh Nagar and was on his way to Jawahar Nagar Tila No. 7 to deliver food to friends when the accident occurred, police said. His damaged scooter was taken to the police station.Police are examining CCTV cameras installed along the surrounding roads to identify the SUV and trace its driver.Vijay’s cousin told police he is from Uttar Pradesh and moved to Jaipur around three years ago. He lives and works at the eatery and is the sole earning member of his family, which includes his parents and three sisters.
