Jaipur: Police have arrested the alleged supplier of explosive raw materials for the illegal firecracker factory where an explosion killed eight people on June 9 and taken the factory’s alleged operator into custody on a production warrant as part of the ongoing investigation.The accused, Firoz Sadiq (33), a resident of Ghaziabad in Uttar Pradesh, was arrested late Saturday after allegedly evading arrest by frequently changing hideouts in Ghaziabad following the blast. Police said eight people died in the explosion at the illegal unit.History-sheeter Qayoom Khan, alleged to have operated the factory, was also arrested on a production warrant from Jaipur Central Jail on Sunday. Investigators said both men would be questioned to identify other members of the alleged network.DCP (East) Ranjita Sharma said Khoh Nagoriyan SHO Prakash Ram Bishnoi received a tip-off that Sadiq was hiding in Ghaziabad. A police team raided the location and arrested him.During preliminary questioning, Sadiq allegedly told investigators that he sourced explosive raw materials from Delhi and Ghaziabad and transported them to Jaipur, where they were used to manufacture firecrackers at illegal units in the Kho Nagoriyan area. Police said the investigation is continuing.
