Jhunjhunu: In a disturbing case of kidnapping and sexual abuse, police rescued a minor boy, who was abducted by a grocery store owner in Jhunjhunu district’s Sultana police station area over a financial dispute with the victim’s family, from Rewari, Haryana. The accused, Dinesh Kumar Lohia, was arrested Tuesday and is currently under police interrogation.According to Sultana police station in-charge Ravindra Singh, the incident occurred on June 18 when the accused kidnapped the minor while his parents were away from home. The kidnapping was allegedly motivated by an ongoing financial dispute and the accused’s attempts to pressure the victim’s family into withdrawing a previously filed police case against him. When the parents returned home that evening and couldn’t locate their son, they conducted an extensive search before filing a police report on June 19. Acting on intelligence received from an informant, police tracked the movement of the accused from Gurgaon to Rewari.A police team successfully rescued the boy from Rewari, though the accused initially managed to escape. However, authorities apprehended Lohia Tuesday. Following the rescue, medical examination of the minor confirmed sexual abuse during captivity.“This is a serious crime, and we are conducting a thorough investigation,” said SHO Singh. tnn
