Jaipur: Shri Rajput Karni Sena president Mahipal Singh Makrana Monday announced a mega protest in Delhi on Jan 10, 2027, demanding the rollback of UGC regulations 2026. He is undertaking a foot march across states to mobilise support for the demand.Makrana said the march has covered four states so far: Rajasthan, Haryana, Jammu & Kashmir, and Himachal Pradesh. The journey included an 800-km stretch from Bikaner to Jaipur, 300 km from Panipat to Chandigarh, 150 km in Jammu & Kashmir, and 600 km in Himachal Pradesh.The march will continue through Madhya Pradesh, Bihar, Gujarat and Uttar Pradesh before reaching Delhi, he said.Makrana announced the protest while in Bhiwani, Haryana, as part of the foot march. He said the movement had lost momentum and people had begun giving up hope, but the ongoing march had revived the demand for a rollback of the regulations.
