Jhunjhunu: Police Thursday arrested history-sheeter Rohit Mahla, the main accused in a clash involving two rival criminal groups in Jhunjhunu district and took out a foot procession of him through a market under heavy security.According to police, the clash took place in the Gudhagaurji area on July 6 and involved firing, assault, and vandalism of vehicles. Separate FIRs were registered for complaints from both groups. Four to five accused have already been arrested and sent to judicial custody.Gudhagaurji SHO Indraprakash Yadav said history-sheeter Vikas Fauji led one group, while Rohit Mahla was associated with the rival group. Mahla had been absconding since the incident, prompting repeated raids by the Gudhagaurji police and the Jhunjhunu District Special Team (DST).Acting on a tip-off, the joint police team arrested Mahla near Bhairuji Mandir in the Ponkh area. Police said live cartridges were recovered from his possession during the search. A separate case under the Arms Act has been registered against him.Police said raids are continuing to trace the remaining absconding accused, who will also be arrested soon.
