Jaipur: Shaurya Maheshwari won the bronze medal at the recently held Rajasthan State Taekwondo Championship in Kota. Five-year-old Shaurya of Jayshree Periwal Pre School, Malviya Nagar, secured the third position in the Under-18-kg weight category in the kyorugi event.

This year’s Rajasthan Official State Taekwondo Championship, organised by Taekwondo Federation of India, Rajasthan Taekwondo Association and Kota District Taekwondo Association, was held at Major Dhyanchand Indoor Sports Complex at University of Kota on September 4-5 in which over 450 players from various districts and clubs participated. The two-day tournament featured kyorugi and poomsae events.

Shaurya Maheshwari from the team of international player and president awardee Richa Gaur at Global Institute of Self Defence and Martial Arts (GOSEDMA) Jaipur displayed excellent agility, power and technique to clinch a bronze medal and settle at III position out of total 7 candidates Under-18-kg weight category in Pee Wee age group. Promising Shaurya is also good in skating and excelled at the state level competitions earlier.
