JAISALMER: Police in Rajasthan’s Hanumangarh district have arrested a 20-year-old man for allegedly maintaining contact with Pakistani gangster and designated terrorist Shahzad Bhatti through social media and sharing sensitive information, including the locations and videos of police stations. Investigators suspect the information could have been intended for planning grenade attacks on police stations in Hanumangarh.Hanumangarh Superintendent of Police Narendra Singh Meena said the accused, identified as Krish Rai alias Shan Mandal, a resident of Ward No. 45 near Dussehra Ground in Hanumangarh Town, was arrested following an investigation.According to the police, Krish Rai used his mobile phone to record videos of the Hanumangarh Town Police Station and the Raisinghnagar Police Station in Sri Ganganagar district. He allegedly sent these videos, along with the exact locations of the police stations, to Shahzad Bhatti via WhatsApp and Instagram.Police are examining whether the case has links to recent grenade attacks on police stations in Punjab. The accused is currently being interrogated.Investigators revealed that Krish Rai had multiple conversations with Shahzad Bhatti and regularly shared important information with him through WhatsApp and Instagram. He also allegedly reposted Bhatti’s photographs, including images displaying weapons, on his own social media accounts.SP Meena stated that Krish Rai knowingly followed Shahzad Bhatti on social media and deliberately established contact with him using his personal mobile number. By sharing sensitive information and promoting Bhatti’s content, the accused allegedly attempted to endanger India’s internal security, sovereignty, unity, and integrity.A case has been registered at Hanumangarh Town Police Station under FIR No. 435 dated June 24, 2026, under Sections 113(3) and 152 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS). Further investigation is underway.Police added that the accused intentionally used electronic communication platforms to stay in touch with the Pakistani terrorist and shared his posts featuring weapons and other photographs, actions that allegedly posed a threat to the nation’s security.Notably, this is not the first such arrest in Hanumangarh. Earlier, on March 24, police arrested Jaswant Kumar alias Sonu Kumhar, a resident of Ward No. 1, Kishanpura Dikhnada, for allegedly maintaining contact with Shahzad Bhatti. Subsequently, on April 6, Sunil Kumar alias Dholu Nayak (29), a resident of Ward No. 54, Sureshiya Mohalla, was also arrested on similar charges.
