Ajmer: Panic gripped Bubani village in Ajmer district Sunday after a bear strayed out of the forest and attacked people working in agricultural fields under the VB-G RAM G scheme. Four villagers, including a woman, were injured and admitted to a govt hospital in Kishangarh before being referred to JLN Hospital in Ajmer.Gegal police said the bear first attacked Shobha Devi, a Bubani village resident, while she was on her way to the worksite. It then attacked Nanu Singh, Ratanlal Meghwanshi and Jitendra Rawat when they intervened to rescue her.Shobha sustained serious injuries in the attack. The bear fled into the adjoining forest as villagers rushed to the spot. Police informed the forest department, which has deployed search teams to trace the animal and issued an alert in nearby villages.
