Kota: Kota Rural police Thursday seized 116.58 kg of illegal narcotic substance doda chura (powder) and arrested two persons on charges of smuggling during vehicle checking on Kota-Jhalawar national highway under Kanwas police station.Superintendent of police (SP), Kota Rural, Sujit Shankar said a suspicious Maruti Swift car was intercepted near Kanwas tri-junction on the highway and a search of the car found in it over 116 kg of doda chura, estimated to be worth Rs 20 lakh in the international market.Two persons in the car, identified as Arjun Ram alias Arjun (33), resident of Jodhpur district, and Dhanaram (28) of Nagaur district, were arrested, the SP said. The car, bearing registration number DL8C AW 9869, was also seized, he said.Police have registered a case against the two accused under NDPS Act and further investigation is underway, the SP said.
