Jaipur: A speeding dumper truck Thursday rammed into a car and dragged it for nearly several metres in the VKI industrial area.Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) Raghu Nandan of Accident Police Station (West) said that no one was seriously injured in the accident, and the driver was taken to the police station. He said that the accident may have been caused due to foggy condition.The incident occurred at around 11.30 am under the VKI police station. According to police, the car driver, his wife Bairagi and their 16-year-old daughter were travelling from Ghaziabad to Chittorgarh when a dumper, allegedly being driven at high speed, hit their car near Road number 14 in VKI.Despite the collision, the dumper driver did not stop and continued dragging the car from Police Chowki No. 5, past Tondwal Marriage Garden, all the way to Dadi Ka Phatak. During the terrifying ordeal, the family inside the car and bystanders along the road kept shouting and waving for the vehicle to stop.The chase finally ended when both vehicles got stuck in mud near Dadi Ka Phatak. Locals then caught hold of the dumper driver and helped pull the trapped family out of the damaged car. Fortunately, all 3 escaped without fatal injuries.On receiving information, teams from Murlipura Police Station and Banipark Accident Police Station rushed to the spot. “A police team reached the scene, the dumper truck was seized and the traffic was restored,” said an official, adding that further investigation was underway into the case.
