Jaipur: State Congress President Govind Singh Dotasra on Saturday launched a sharp attack on the BJP-led state govt, accusing it of using the slogan of “One State–One Election” to conceal its failures, at the cost of the people of the state. He objected to the proposal of holding local body elections using the Jan 2025 voter list, despite over 40 lakh names being deleted during the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) exercise.“First voters are removed from the list, and then elections are conducted at will. This is not democracy; it is an open conspiracy,” Dotasra said, accusing the BJP govt of undermining democratic processes in the state.Dotasra said that due to the delay in holding panchayat elections, funds amounting to Rs 3,000 crore from the Centre were stalled. He emphasised that the amount was meant for essential rural development work such as roads, drinking water, and other infrastructure. “This is not a small sum. Rural development came to a complete standstill, and if this money lapses, the people of the state will never forgive this govt,” he warned. The PCC chief alleged that after the reality of the situation came to light, the govt began pressuring the State Election Commission to conduct elections hastily.
