Jaipur: Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma Monday directed officials to speed up and complete ongoing irrigation and development schemes, including the Ramjal Setu Link Project, within stipulated timelines through regular monitoring while he was chairing a review meeting of the Water Resources Department at the Chief Minister’s Office. Sharma added that the govt is committed to ensuring uninterrupted water supply to the common people and farmers.The CM said the govt took important decisions to develop water sources, increase storage capacity, and strengthen water management systems. He added that the Ram Jal Setu Link Project will play a crucial role in ensuring reliable water supply to a large population, and instructed officials to complete each phase of the project responsibly as per the implementation plan.Officials informed during the meeting that under the project, work related to the coffer dams and drainage channels at Ramgarh Barrage and Mahlpur Barrage was completed. They added that of the three ongoing works costing about ₹9,400 crore, aqueduct construction on the Chambal River and feeder links from Neemuchana/Mej to Galwa and from Galwa to Isarda–Bisalpur are in progress.They further said that five additional components worth about Rs 14,600 crore will soon be initiated. These include links from Bisalpur to Mor Sagar in Ajmer; Isarda to Bandh Baretha in Bharatpur; Isarda to Ramgarh in Jaipur; Khura Chainpura to Jaisamand in Alwar, and Brahmani Barrage.
