Jhunjhunu/Jaisalmer: A blackout was imposed in several areas around Chirawa and Pilani in Jhunjhunu district after reports of suspicious drone-like objects appearing in the sky around 9:30pm Monday.Areas including Chirawa, Surajgarh, Sultana, and Pilani experienced the blackout.In a press statement issued by Collector Ramavatar Meena, it was mentioned that the blackout was implemented in some locations following reports of a ‘suspicious object’ in the sky. He urged the public not to panic, to remain vigilant and to report any related information to the police.Around the same time, drone activities were again spotted in Barmer and Jaisalmer districts Monday. While authorities did not declare an official red alert or activate sirens, Jaisalmer implemented an undeclared blackout. The city’s street illumination was suspended, though residential power supply remained operational. The district administration maintained silence regarding the aerial incursions, but sources verified substantial drone presence in certain bordering areas.Drones were spotted over Jalipa and surrounding areas of Barmer city, with considerable activity observed in the Munabao Gadra sector. Additionally, multiple drones were detected across border areas of Mohangarh and Shahgarh in Jaisalmer.
