Jaipur: Kite flying will be completely banned within a 5-km radius of Mahal Road and Hare Krishna Marg in Jagatpura from Jan 2 to 15, in view of Army Day fly-past rehearsals involving low-flying aircraft, police said Tuesday.Additional commissioner (law and order) Rajeev Pachar said aircraft will fly at a very low altitude during practice sessions over the parade ground area, which is expected to draw a large number of spectators. Considering public safety and the risk posed by kites and manjha to the aircraft, police have imposed restrictions under BNSS. The ban will also impact kite flying during Makar Sankranti on Jan 14.The prohibition will be enforced on multiple days and time slots during the rehearsal period: Jan 2, 3, 4, 6, 8, 10, 12, and 14 from 2pm to 5pm; January 5, 7, 9, 11, and 13 from 9am to 12pm; and Jan 15 from 9am to 1pm.Police have appealed to residents to cooperate and strictly adhere to the restrictions. Officers warned that anyone found violating the order will face action. The ban will remain in force only during the specified dates and time periods between Jan 2 and Jan 15, police added.
