Improper rope barrier claims life of 44-year-old motorcyclist in city

Jaipur: A 44-year-old man lost his life due to severe neck injuries caused by a rope stretched across the road as a barrier in the city. The tragic incident occurred Thursday and the victim succumbed to his injuries Friday, leading to an inquest being registered Saturday.The fatal accident took place in the vicinity of Vidhyadhar Nagar Stadium while the deceased was travelling on a motorcycle with his brother-in-law and could not notice the rope barrier in time.The victim, identified as Dinesh Singh, a native of Hathras, Uttar Pradesh, succumbed to his injuries during treatment at the SMS Hospital. Police conducted a post-mortem Saturday and handed over the body to the family. Dinesh, a painter by profession, lived with his wife and two children in rented accommodation in Nahari Ka Naka, Shastri Nagar.According to officials at Accident Police Station (North), the incident took place around 3.30pm Thursday, when Dinesh and his brother-in-law Vivek were heading to Sector-6, Vidhyadhar Nagar, on a two-wheeler for work. Near the stadium, their bike collided with a barricading rope tied across the road, which struck Dinesh directly on the neck. The two were thrown off the bike, sustaining injuries from the fall.After the accident, the duo were rushed to Kanwatia Hospital. Vivek was discharged after primary treatment, while Dinesh, whose neck wound caused excessive blood loss, was referred to SMS Hospital, where he later died.Initial investigation revealed the rope was tied by labourers for the ongoing religious event. The event at the stadium concluded on May 7. Police have registered a case and begun probing who was responsible for tying the rope and whether permissions were properly obtained for setting up such barricades.
