Jaipur: SMS Hospital is developing an Institute of Dermatology that will offer a wide range of cosmetic procedures like hair transplants and facial surgeries at affordable rates, with the aim of making them accessible to a broad, regional audience. The Rs 7 crore institute is expected to become operational in 2026.Besides treating skin diseases, the institute will undertake procedures like removal of tattoos, warts and birthmarks, and address issues like pigmentation, white patches, facial pits and unwanted hair. A senior SMS Hospital official said cosmetic and related treatments at the institute will be far cheaper compared to private hospitals.The institute will offer advanced laser machines and treatments, besides procedures like hair regeneration, and accelerated healing of wounds through platelet rich plasma (PRP), a concentrated form of blood plasma that contains a higher-than-normal concentration of platelets.
