Jaipur: Chief minister Bhajan Lal Sharma Friday said the spirit of ‘Vande Mataram’ should be understood in every school and college in Rajasthan.“Our children should not only sing it but also understand the meaning of each word and know the story behind it. The Rajasthan govt will make every effort in this direction,” said Sharma at the state-level event marking 150 years of ‘Vande Mataram’ at Sawai Mansingh Stadium Friday.Sharma emphasised that ‘Vande Mataram’ is more than a song. “It is a symbol of our collective consciousness, the call of our soul, and our boundless respect for our homeland,” he said.Sharma asserted that ‘Vande Mataram’ has the power to unite Indians. “It is not just a political slogan, but a spiritual force capable of awakening our collective consciousness. This song connects us with our shared identity and roots,” he said.He stated that the song embodies our consciousness, the thread of national integrity and unity. “On the 150th anniversary of Vande Mataram, we must pledge to embody the spirit of this song in our lives,” he said. He mentioned that this celebration is not just a festival, but a national movement aimed at connecting our citizens, especially the youth and students, with the original revolutionary spirit of this song.
