Jaipur: Years after the roads were dug up to build sewer lines along Siyaram Dungri Road in Amer’s Mehendi Bas area, the roads in Ward 149 remain unrepaired with sewer lines absent. Residents continue to depend on self-built gutters and septic tanks for sanitation.Resident Dilip Kumar Jha said repeated complaints to former Congress councillor, Anjali Brahmbhatt yielded no action. “There is no proper sewerage system here. Residents have made their own chambers and septic tanks, and we pay from our own pockets to get them cleaned,” he said.The problem worsens during heavy showers, when water floods the road, making it difficult for children to step out to attend school. At times, the waterlogging is so severe that even pedestrians struggle to pass through and driving cars or motorcycles in nearly impossible due to slippage on road slopes.Residents are pinning their hopes on whoever is elected as the new councillor after the previous councillor failed to address the issue.
