Jaipur: Rajasthan State Industrial Development and Investment Corporation (RIICO) Wednesday announced the launch of its first flatted factory complex (plug & play) in Sitapura Industrial Area, offering ready-to-move industrial modules for micro enterprises.Constructed over 4,167 square metre at a cost of Rs 25 crore, the complex marks RIICO’s first initiative of its kind in the state. The project received a central grant of Rs 10.23 crore under the Micro and Small Enterprises – Cluster Development Programme.The facility comprises 33 factory modules, three on the ground floor and 10 each on the first, second and third floors, along with essential amenities such as administrative offices, a bank, training and meeting rooms, a canteen, and both goods and passenger lifts. Each unit includes pantry space to enhance usability for small manufacturers.The ready-to-move modules, available on a licence-fee basis starting from Rs 18 per square ft, will enable micro enterprises, particularly in the garment and apparel sector with an annual turnover up to Rs 5 crore, to start operations immediately without the need for land acquisition, construction approvals, or infrastructure setup. By eliminating these initial hurdles, RIICO aims to help entrepreneurs operationalise their activities faster and reduce capital expenditure.In a statement, RIICO said applications for allotment will be accepted online from Oct 24 to Nov 3, through a dedicated portal, and e-bidding will be held on Nov 4.In the first phase, 30 modules will be allotted, including six reserved for women, SC/ST entrepreneurs, ex-servicemen, and persons with disabilities.A senior official of RIICO said, “This is an experiment and given the interest from the entrepreneurs, the model appears to be very attractive. It provides a lot of advantages to entrepreneurs to start their businesses without being worried about their factory set-up. These ready-to-move-in places provide all facilities.”
