Saini’s batchmates said he was posted at Dholpur police lines.Saini’s family had insisted that their protest would not end until they receive the compensation amount. This led to a series of meetings with the district administration and senior police officers. On Tuesday, officials reached the district hospital, the site of protest, where they agreed to provide a job to a dependent of the deceased and state honours for the funeral. However, the discussions stalled over the demand for compensation, with protesters refusing to call off their agitation without it.On Wednesday, officials assured that insurance benefits would be provided to the family along with a contractual job for one of the dependents. Following this assurance, the protest was called off. Saini’s batchmates, however, expressed disappointment, alleging that despite him being a member of Rajasthan Police, the force did not extend support to them during the agitation.
