Ajmer: In a surprising decision, Manju Sharma has resigned as a member of the Rajasthan Public Service Commission (RPSC), which sources indicated was prompted by the critical remarks made recently by the Rajasthan High Court regarding the 2021 Sub-Inspector Recruitment Exam. The resignation letter was sent to governor Haribhau Bagade, sources said Monday.A copy of the same was also sent to the commission. Sharma did not attend the office Monday. RPSC secretary Ramniwas Mehta confirmed receiving a copy of the resignation, but refused to confirm its content officially, claiming he had not personally reviewed it. “It is true that she did not turn up at the office today,” Mehta said. Though TOI made efforts to contact Sharma, she was not available for comments. In a copy of the letter, which TOI received unofficially from the RPSC, Sharma said, “I have spent my entire executive and personal life working with utmost transparency and honesty, but due to a controversy that arose in a recruitment process in the past few days, my personal reputation and the dignity of the entire commission have been affected.”
