Bhilwara: Chittorgarh police Saturday arrested a man, key accused and detained a minor in connection with the rape and murder of a 20-year-old woman at Tulsi Enclave Colony on Nimbahera Road, Chittorgarh, Wednesday evening.SP Manish Tripathi said the victim, a Class 11 student from the Kotwali police station area, was found dead near Tulsi Enclave. A special team was formed under ASP Sarita Singh and led by ASI Himmat Singh of Sadar police station to probe the case. An FSL team collected evidence, and a case of rape and murder was registered at Sadar police station.CCTV footage helped police trace and arrest Bhupendra Pushkarna of Mohta village in the Nimbahera Sadar police station area. A minor accused of assisting in the crime was also detained for questioning.Kotwali SHO Bhawani Singh said the 20-year-old victim went to meet an acquaintance at Tulsi Enclave Wednesday. There, she was raped and, after excessive bleeding, killed. Her body was dumped in a water drain. Police recovered the body, conducted a post-mortem, and handed it over to her family Thursday.Police the main accused and the minor are being interrogated, and further investigation is underway.
