Jaipur: A 42-year-old man died from serious injuries to his neck, allegedly self-inflicted with a kitchen knife, while his wife and younger brother were found critically injured late Wednesday night in Bikaner.Police suspect that a heated argument between the couple escalated, leading the man to slit his throat in a fit of rage. His wife and brother sustained severe injuries while allegedly trying to intervene and stop him.The incident took place in Kamla Colony around 10pm when Sunny Panwar, who worked as a delivery agent, and his wife Mamta Panwar (39) got into an argument that turned violent. Sunny reportedly stormed into the kitchen, grabbed a vegetable knife, and returned to the room before inflicting a deep wound on his own neck.Mamta told police that she attempted to stop Sunny but was injured in the process. Sunny’s younger brother Jeetu, who was present during the altercation, also tried to intervene and suffered injuries. All three were rushed to a private hospital, from where Sunny was referred to PBM Hospital. He was declared dead on arrival. Mamta and Jeetu are currently receiving treatment at the trauma centre of PBM Hospital and remain in critical condition.Police said Sunny’s body has been placed in the hospital mortuary for post-mortem. His family members, including his two sons who were not at home during the incident, arrived at the hospital soon after being informed. Both are college students and were reportedly disturbed by their parents’ frequent arguments.Sunny was unemployed for some time. He occasionally worked as a delivery agent but recently stopped working altogether. Police are investigating the allegations that he developed a drinking problem and often picked fights with Mamta.
