Jaipur: A special police unit swarmed into the Palace School located at City Palace Monday morning after the school administration discovered a bomb threat in its official email. This later turned out to be a hoax similar to several such that have targeted the city for nearly a year now.The message, sent late Sunday night, claimed explosives were planted on the school premises. A full-scale emergency response was launched in and around the school, but no suspicious item was found.DCP (north) Karan Sharma said the threatening email arrived at 7:55pm Sunday. It remained unnoticed until school resumed the next morning and staff checked the official mailbox. Alarmed, the school authorities immediately contacted police.A bomb disposal and dog squad team was rushed to the scene, and the school was evacuated as a precaution. The search operation lasted nearly an hour and a half. “Every classroom, corridor, and open area was thoroughly checked. No suspicious object was found,” said an officer involved in the search. Police later confirmed the threat was a hoax.An FIR has been registered, and cyber teams have begun tracking the source of the email, a senior police officer said. “We are trying to identify the IP address and origin of the threat mail,” the officer said. This is not the first time the Palace School has received such a threat. A similar email was sent to the institution on June 15, triggering a comparable security scare. The recurring nature of the threats has raised concern among parents and school staff, with police now investigating the possibility of a coordinated attempt to disrupt school operations. On Saturday, a bomb threat targeting the chief minister’s office and Jaipur International Airport triggered massive security checks, sending police teams and emergency units into a tizzy for several hours.
