Jaipur: A bomb threat targeting the chief minister’s office and Jaipur International Airport triggered massive security checks on Saturday, sending police teams and emergency units into a tizzy for several hours. The bomb threat came on email to Jaipur International Airport’s official email and claimed four explosive devices had been planted—two at Terminal 1 and two at Terminal 2, which would be detonated around 11 am. The same message claimed the CM Office would also be blown up within hours. It also carried bizarre allegations against the Tamil Nadu govt, accusing it of misconduct during MK Stalin’s US visit, including claims of an IPS officer being honey-trapped and journalists being influenced, along with charges of bringing orphan girls for exploitation.Police, bomb squad teams, fire brigade units and civil defence personnel rushed to both locations soon after receiving the alerts. At the airport, searches stretched over one and a half hours, while the anti-bomb squad and intelligence teams swept through every corner of the CM Office. No suspicious objects were found at either site. The airport administration filed a formal complaint with Jaipur Police, whose cyber cell has taken up the probe. Extra police forces were deployed around the secretariat, with senior officers on the ground supervising the operation. The timing of the threat, on a Saturday, meant fewer staff were inside the secretariat. Those present were moved out immediately while searches continued. Hours after the scare, police confirmed that nothing dangerous had been found but said security at both the CM Office and Jaipur International Airport would remain tight as the email’s origin is traced.
