Bhilwara: Asind police in Bhilwara district Monday arrested two moneylenders in the case of a BJP worker’s suicide. Bhilwara SP Dharmendra Singh Yadav stated that the arrests were made on basis of the report filed by the son of the deceased, Ladu Lal Teli, a former Asind unit chief of BJP. Teli had written letters to the President of India, Prime Minister, chief minister, and administrative and police officials to say he was being harassed by moneylenders, before he consumed poison on May 24 and died three days later at Mahatma Gandhi Hospital in Bhilwara. After the 12th-day ritual of the deceased, his son and daughter-in-law found a suicide note while cleaning the house. Based on this note, Teli’s son filed a case against 12 moneylenders at Asind police station. A special team was formed and Monday it arrested 60-year-old Devilal Mewara and 50-year-old Satyanarayan Joshi, both moneylenders, from Brahmanon Ki Sareri village in Asind police station area. The Bhilwara SP said Mewara had financial dealings with Teli starting from 2010, and by 2016, it was agreed that Teli owed Mewara Rs 60 lakh. The other accused, Satyanarayan Joshi, had previously vacated land in front of Teli’s property on the Bhilwara-Asind highway but continued to harass him for a plot.
