Jaipur: Widespread monsoon showers continued across Rajasthan during the 24 hours ending at 8.30 am Friday, with Amet in Rajsamand and Pachpadra in Barmer recording the state’s highest rainfall of 90 mm each.According to the Jaipur Met Centre, moderate to heavy rainfall occurred at many places across eastern and western Rajasthan, while isolated thunderstorms were reported in the western region. The active spell was attributed to a low-pressure area over southeast Rajasthan and its neighbourhood.Salumber and Jhadol in Udaipur district and Badesar in Chittorgarh recorded 70 mm of rain each. Rashmi (Chittorgarh), Kotda (Udaipur), Gangdhar (Jhalawar), Dhorimanna (Barmer) and Jalore received 60 mm each. Tatgarh (Ajmer), Rajsamand, Girwa (Udaipur), Siwana and Balotra (Barmer), and Osian (Jodhpur) recorded 50 mm each, while several other places received 20-30 mm.The Met office said monsoon activity is likely to remain strong over parts of the Udaipur and Jodhpur divisions over the next two to three days, with moderate to heavy rain and isolated spells of very heavy rainfall. Heavy rain is also likely at some places in the Udaipur and Kota divisions, while light to moderate showers are expected at many places in the Jaipur and Bharatpur divisions.In Jaipur, scattered showers brought 3.4 mm of rain. The city’s maximum temperature settled at 32 degrees Celsius, 1.6 degrees below normal, while the minimum was 25.8 degrees Celsius.Jaisalmer was the hottest place in the state at 39°C, followed by Sriganganagar at 35.2°C, Bikaner at 35°C, Dausa at 34.3°C, Churu at 34°C, Pali at 33.8°C, Sikar at 33.5°C, Jodhpur at 33.1°C, Alwar, Barmer, Jalore and Fatehpur recorded 33°C each, Nagaur registered 32.8°C, Karauli at 32.2°C, and Sangaria recorded a maximum temperature of 32.1°C.
