Jaipur: Jaipur International Airport conducted a full-scale aerodrome emergency exercise (FSAEE) 2026 Wednesday to test its preparedness for handling a plane crash or similar airport emergency.Officials said the annual drill assessed emergency response systems, identified operational gaps, and included passengers and their relatives as part of the simulation.The exercise saw participation from the airport operator, district administration, State Disaster Response Force (SDRF), Bureau of Civil Aviation Security (BCAS), Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA), Airports Authority of India (AAI), Central Industrial Security Force (CISF), Intelligence Bureau (IB), Rajasthan Police, city fire services, airline representatives, govt and private hospitals, and other state and central agencies.The drill simulated an aircraft crash during a failed landing attempt, triggering a coordinated response from Air Traffic Control (ATC), the Aircraft Rescue and Fire Fighting (ARFF) team, CISF, medical services and other agencies.Officials said the exercise was aimed at evaluating crisis management protocols, inter-agency coordination and emergency response mechanisms. It was conducted during a NOTAM period to ensure there was no disruption to flight operations or inconvenience to passengers.“Full-scale emergency exercises are an important part of our preparedness efforts. They help us assess response mechanisms, strengthen coordination among all agencies, and identify areas for improvement. Regular drills ensure we remain ready to respond effectively to any emergency while maintaining the highest standards of safety and operational readiness,” an airport spokesperson said.
