Bhilwara: Congress National General Secretary and Tonk MLA Sachin Pilot Saturday expressed strong disapproval of the Delhi Police‘s decision to detain activist Sonam Wangchuk from his hunger strike site, labelling the action as indicative of the govt’s oppressive tactics towards youth protests nationwide.During his visit to Tonk, Pilot emphasised the growing frustration among young people regarding the govt’s inaction on pressing issues, particularly the recent paper leak scandals.Pilot criticized the Centre govt’s refusal to accept accountability, citing the unresolved NEET paper leak investigation as evidence of its failure to address corruption. “The govt is not only ignoring public demands but is actively working to suppress movements,” he stated.He also condemned the state govt’s postponement of local bodies’ elections and highlighted the repeated reprimands it has faced from the high court, stating that the govt is afraid of losing. “The govt has failed in every field,” Pilot said.On Saturday, Pilot held a meeting at the Tonk Circuit House, where he reviewed local infrastructure projects and urged improvements in drinking water and electricity supply in his constituency. The Congress leader reaffirmed his party’s commitment to standing with the youth and advocating for their rightful demands.
