Ajmer: Two men were killed and another injured after their speeding car rammed into a container truck on the Jaipur-Ajmer highway near the Nasirabad bypass early morning Friday.The deceased were identified as Pradeep Sarva (38), an employee of the public health engineering dept (PHED), and Lalit Kumar (39), a resident of Sikar. Their friend, Avinash Gupta, who was travelling in the rear seat, sustained serious injuries and was referred to JLN Hospital in Ajmer for treatment.According to police, the three were travelling from Jaipur to Ajmer when the accident occurred around 4am. Toll plaza records showed their car crossed the Kishangarh toll plaza at 3.48am before it rammed into the rear of a container truck moving ahead near the Nasirabad bypass.Bandarsindri SHO Banna Lal Jat said the impact was so severe that the car was completely mangled, and police, with the help of locals, had to cut open the vehicle to retrieve the bodies. The truck driver fled the spot after the accident, and efforts are on to trace him. Police are examining CCTV footage from the route as part of the investigation.The crash triggered a long traffic jam on both sides of the highway. Police regulated traffic, and normal movement was restored after nearly two hours. Investigation is underway.
