Jaisalmer: The blood-soaked body of a man was discovered in a forested area near Boha village under Mohangarh police station limits Saturday, with preliminary investigations suggesting the man may have been murdered.The deceased was identified as Amar Chand Soni, a resident of Nokha in Bikaner district.Police said multiple injury marks were found on the body, while tractor tyre marks were detected near the spot. As news of the incident spread, residents from nearby villages gathered at the scene in large numbers.Police reached the spot after receiving information, cordoned off the area and launched an investigation.SHO Geeta Vishnoi said villagers spotted the body lying in a secluded forest area. The body was soaked in blood and appeared to have been lying at the spot for two to three days which made immediate identification difficult, she said.A forensic science laboratory (FSL) team later collected evidence from the scene, including examining the tyre marks and bloodstains. Investigators also inspected the surrounding area and gathered physical evidence for analysis.Police intensified efforts to identify the victim by questioning local residents, collecting information from nearby villages and checking missing person reports registered at neighbouring police stations. Following this, the man’s family members identified him.A post-mortem examination was conducted, following which the body was handed over to the family. They alleged that he was killed after being run over by a tractor.While the condition of the body and evidence at the scene point towards the possibility of murder, police said it would be premature to draw conclusions before the post-mortem and forensic reports are received.Further action will be taken based on scientific evidence and the findings of the ongoing investigation, officials said.
