Jaipur: Facing a real estate slowdown, the Jaipur Development Authority (JDA) has begun auctioning regular residential plots in its housing schemes directly to end buyers, shifting away from investor-focused land sales.“The JDA has shifted focus from investors to end users and begun e-auctioning vacant plots in residential schemes. Now we are banking on direct buyer participation to improve auction response and strengthen revenue collections,” stated a JDA official.Earlier, the civic body used to allot commercial, institutional, group housing and corner plots through different projects. But after earlier allottees failed to deposit the required amount, the allotments of these plots were cancelled, and around 1,200 became available, officials said.“The authority has started auctioning such plots, ranging from 90 sq m to 252 sq m in Vipra Vihar and Bilwa schemes. There are plans to hold similar auctions in Anupam Vihar, Yash Vihar, Yamuna Vihar, Saraswati Vihar and Patel Nagar,” another official added.
