BHILWARA: In a swift midnight operation, the Bhilwara police raided a house in the Pratapnagar police station area and detained a youth caught red-handed selling fake and bogus Re-NEET examination papers on social media, just days before the nationwide test scheduled for June 21.Acting on the directions of Bhilwara Superintendent of Police (SP) Sagar Rana, a specially constituted police team carried out the raid after midnight of Friday, apprehending the suspect, identified as Aakash.The Raid and CatchThe breakthrough came after the District Special Branch of the SP office received secret intelligence on the “i-MEC portal” regarding antisocial elements fabricating fake Re-NEET papers and operating a racket to sell them online through Telegram and other social media platforms.Upon receiving the tip-off, SP Sagar Rana formed a high-level special team led by the Pratapnagar station in-charge and other senior police officers. The team closed in on Aakash’s residence, catching him in the act of transmitting the fraudulent exam papers to other youths via Telegram.Investigation UnderwaySP Sagar Rana emphasised that extensive preparations are underway across the country and within the Bhilwara district to ensure the fair conduct of the NEET examination on June 21. Senior police officers have been handed strict responsibilities to maintain the integrity of the exam.“The Bhilwara police is alert about conducting a fair examination in the district,” SP Rana stated.Aakash is currently undergoing intense interrogation to uncover the scale of the operation, identify other youths plugged into this network, and determine how long these illegal activities have been going on.
