Jaipur: Chief minister Bhajan Lal Sharma Sunday said that the state govt is working with commitment for the holistic development and social upliftment of denotified, nomadic and semi-nomadic tribal communities across the state.He said that empowered women, educated youth, prosperous farmers and a society free from social evils form the foundation of Rajasthan’s overall development.The chief minister said that the vision of good governance is being realised through the welfare schemes and budget announcements of the “double-engine govt”.Sharma made the remarks while interacting with a delegation of representatives from the Gadariya, Gadri, Gayari, Dhangar, Pal and Baghel communities, among other denotified and nomadic tribal groups, at the chief minister’s residence in Jaipur Sunday. The delegation thanked the state govt for welfare initiatives and budget announcements made in the interest of the community.During the meeting, the chief minister unveiled the poster for the state-level celebrations to mark the 301st birth anniversary of Ahilyabai Holkar.The chief minister said that denotified and nomadic tribal communities possess a proud history and rich cultural heritage. Referring to the Battle of Khanwa, he said Veer Singh Baghel fought shoulder to shoulder with Rana Sanga against Mughal invaders, setting an example of courage, valour and loyalty.He added that the Gadariya community continues to uphold the glorious traditions of Ahilyabai Holkar, whom he described as an iconic symbol of women empowerment and nation-building. Sharma urged the community to follow her ideals and contribute actively towards nation-building.Sharma directed officials to turn the proposed “Vande Ganga Jal Sanrakshan Jan Abhiyan” into a mass movement aimed at promoting water conservation and groundwater recharge across the state. The campaign will run from May 25, coinciding with Ganga Dussehra, till June 5, observed as World Environment Day.
