JAIPUR: A senior IPS officer of Rajasthan Police was placed under Awaiting Posting Orders (APO) on Saturday, days after an FIR was registered against him on allegations of rape, officials said.Police have identified the officer as Kishan Sahai Meena, who was posted as Inspector General (Human Rights) at the Police Headquarters.An FIR was registered on April 29 at a Jaipur police station based on a complaint sent by a woman.While the government did not officially link the action to the allegations, the order issued on Saturday stated that the officer had been placed under APO for “administrative reasons”.According to police, the complainant alleged that the officer called her to a government residence, where he sexually assaulted her.She further alleged that her phone was switched off, she was physically assaulted and later threatened not to report the incident.The woman also alleged that she continued to receive threats over calls for several days after the incident.Police said the investigation is under way and declined to share further details.
