Bhilwara: The district special team and Sadar police of Tonk district conducted a joint operation Saturday and arrested criminal Kishan Mogya, who was carrying a bounty of Rs 5,000, and his accomplice Soil. They seized a large quantity of cartridges, a cap gun, a car, four mobile phones and Rs 43,000 from the duo.Tonk SP Rajesh Kumar Meena said that police officers were directed to prevent smuggling of illegal weapons in Tonk district, for which a special team of Sadar police and DST was formed.Acting on a tip-off, the police team reached the road connecting Chandlai to Banbor in Sadar police station area, where a Thar vehicle was stopped.The car belonged to Kishan Mogya, a criminal carrying Rs 5,000 reward. Upon spotting police, Kishan parked the Thar and attempted to flee, but the team gave him a chase and arrested him.Police seized illegal weapons from the car, including a pistol, a 12-bore gun, a cap gun, 28 empty cartridges, 294 live cartridges and bullets, a blood-stained axe, three blood-stained sharp knives, a blood-stained pointed screwdriver, four mobile phones and Rs 43,000 cash and a Thar car.The sharp-edged weapons recovered were found to be stained with blood, which the accused revealed were used for hunting stray animals.Police registered a case under the Arms Act and various other sections and began investigation. Total eight cases are registered against Mogya at various police stations.
