Jaipur: As part of the ease of doing business reform initiatives, the revenue and environment departments have been tasked with creating a land bank comprising degraded forest and non-forest land to facilitate industrial expansion. By pooling degraded forest and non-forest land, the govt aims to provide industry with readily available parcels for expansion, cutting through the traditional bottlenecks of land acquisition.A senior industries department official explained that simplification of land conversion rules and streamlined licensing procedures are also being prioritised. “The identified land parcels will be uploaded on the PARIVESH portal within a stipulated time-frame to facilitate investors,” the official noted, underscoring the administration’s commitment to transparency and speed. But the reforms extend far beyond land. Tourism is receiving a boost through eased homestay registration norms, while education is being supported by simplified processes for obtaining no-objection certificates and infrastructure clearances for private schools and universities. To ensure grievances don’t languish in bureaucratic maze, an auto-appeal system is being introduced, promising quicker redressal and accountability. Technology is central to this transformation. Departments are working in tandem to digitise compliance requirements, reduce paperwork and accelerate clearances. The emphasis is on transparency and efficiency, ensuring that investors and entrepreneurs encounter fewer hurdles. Senior officials from industries, revenue, education, energy and law are coordinating closely, creating a cross-departmental synergy.Sector-wise data is being developed to provide insights for investors, while reforms in fire safety regulations and the functioning of shops and commercial establishments are also underway.
