Jaipur: Jaipur Municipal Corporation (JMC) penalised around 40 meat shops for remaining open on Ram Navami, sealing several outlets and imposing fines during a citywide drive on Thursday.Officials said action was taken in Bais Godam, MD Road, Mansarovar, Gujjar Ki Thadi, Ramganj and Transport Nagar to enforce compliance. JMC’s animal management wing in-charge Dr Harendra Singh said shops found violating norms were sealed and a total fine of Rs 30,000 was imposed. Police accompanied civic teams during the drive to ensure smooth execution and prevent any law and order issues, officials added.
