Jaipur: The planned shift of bus operations to Sanganer depot failed to begin Thursday. Jaipur City Transport Services Limited (JCTSL) had decided to move buses operated by M/s Paras Travel Lines from Bagrana depot to Sanganer, especially with e-bus operations proposed at Bagrana. However, the plan did not take off as scheduled. Notably, the Sanganer depot has remained unused for the past three years, with no buses operating from there, despite JCTSL paying nearly Rs 20 lakh per month as rent. The delay has also sparked opposition from the drivers’ association. They allege that under the new schedule, “dead kilometres”, the distance from the depot to the starting point, are being included to benefit the private operator, which would increase duty hours beyond eight hours and lead to overtime payments, without generating additional revenue for JCTSL.Sanganer depot manager Anil Kumar Pareek said the depot will begin operations in 3 to 4 days. However, drivers’ association president Ramkawar Bishnoi said operations are unlikely to start even in next 3 months. tnn
